Government to push through Construction Act reforms
As part of its legislative programme for next parliamentary session, the Government will finally push through the long awaited amendments to the Construction Act.
Extensive reforms are to be made, most notably, in the area of payment practices and the adjudication procedures. This would include “improving cashflow through construction supply chains and, where appropriate, encouraging disputes to be resolved through adjudication as opposed to litigation”.
The news will be welcomed by most contractors, according to most experts.
